According to USA Hockey - accepted current medical practice and law in most states requires that any athlete with a suspected Sports Related Concussion (SRC) is immediately removed from play. "When in doubt, sit them out".
Any suspected concussions or head injurys must be reported to the RiverHawks
, who is responsible for working with the CHC district player safety coordinator in regards to any suspected concussions. USA Hockey provides general concussion management program as well as a USA Hockey return to play form that is required for any player suspected to have had a concussion or head injury to be signed by their medical provider before they may return to the ice. You can read more about how CHC and USA Hockey handle concussions, concussion management, and return to play form and policy here on the CHC site.
